The episode
Adeline sees the collection now — skull bowls, the upholstered chair, the seated figure turned to face the wall — and the season lets her fascination curdle in real time rather than run screaming. Ed, meanwhile, takes his mother's catalog of sin to the tavern, where owner Mary Hogan pays for the comparison.
The episode then makes its structural bet: it cuts to Hollywood, where Robert Bloch is writing Psycho, Anthony Perkins is cast as Norman Bates, and Hitchcock stages the shower. The implication — that Gein's house seeded modern horror — becomes the season's second storyline from here on.
