Blame It on the Rain

It opens with the 911 call: Lyle Menendez, frantic, telling a dispatcher his parents have been shot. In the days after the August 1989 killings, the brothers point police toward a mob-style hit, and grief-adjacent behavior — the funerals, the security detail — keeps suspicion pointed outward.

The turn comes from inside the family's orbit: Erik, haunted and unraveling, confesses everything to his therapist, Dr. Jerome Oziel — the killings, the fear, the claim that their father's abuse made it feel like survival. By the hour's end, Oziel's mistress Judalon has heard enough that the story is no longer the brothers' alone.
